We love and treat your pets like our own.

Scott County Veterinary Clinic has been owned and operated by Dr. Karen Hancock Young since January 2012. Since then, Dr. Young has been joined by Dr. Schell, Dr. Hubert, Dr. Gover, and Dr. Sciba to form an amazing team of care providers for your pets with a wide range of specialties. We provide care for everything from pocket pets to farm animals and all creatures in between, although we’re passionate most about our canine and feline patients. We love all of our patients as if they were our own and we look forward to falling in love with your furry family members!
We can’t wait for you to join our Scott County Veterinary Clinic family and are here to help!

New Clients Welcome!

At Scott County Veterinary Clinic, you can expect state of the art medical care for your four-legged companions in a welcoming, family-like atmosphere. We provide all of the services of a large clinic, but still strive to provide the hometown feel. We believe in nurturing the human-animal bond and creating a harmonious relationship between people and animals. You can expect to be greeted by a friendly receptionist, clean exam rooms, compassionate, knowledgeable doctors, and caring technicians. We appreciate the role we get to play in your pet’s health care.

We have the best clients and patients!

Your kind words mean so much to our team.

We recently kenneled our very large dog at the Scott County Veterinary Clinic for 5 days while we were out of town, and the experience was fantastic. We were concerned about her comfort, as we didn’t want her confined to a small cage the entire time. Thankfully, this clinic provided her with a very spacious kennel and ensured she had outdoor time daily. It gave us great peace of mind knowing she was well-cared for.
The staff were kind and professional, and the price was incredibly reasonable for the level of care provided. I highly recommend the Scott County Veterinary Clinic to anyone looking for quality boarding options for their pets!

I will never go anywhere else with my pets! The compassion and understanding the ENTIRE staff showed my family and me; was so caring, having to choose to put our precious Brodie down, to pray with us for comfort, letting us decide when we were able to say it was time, and to reassure us that we were making the right decision. ❤️ Your kindness and compassion meant so much!

I met Dr. Young in a Bible study and knew where I’d be taking my new puppy when I got her. I had to take said puppy, now 4, in for an emergency appointment after she had her first known seizure. I appreciated the Christian music I heard while briefly sitting in the waiting room. We saw Dr. Gover for the first time. He answered my questions, eased my concerns, and made sure I was satisfied with the appointment before we left. The entire staff was, and has always been, compassionate and caring. And an emergency visit was not $$$ like I was afraid it would be!

We’re pleased to offer the latest technology in Laser Therapy.

Laser therapy is an effective pain management tool in treating many types of injuries. Laser therapy promotes faster healing time, a reduction of swelling, and minimizes the chance of bacteria growing. We will use laser therapy to treat ailments such as muscle soreness, osteoarthritis, skin and ear infections, and other types of inflammation.

We’re pleased to offer the latest technology in Dentistry.

Dental Care is a vital piece of the puzzle when evaluating your pet’s overall health. Beginning with an oral exam, our veterinarians will ensure your pet receives the best dental care by performing diagnostics and treatments tailored to their specific needs. We utilize dental radiographs to make sure our treatment recommendations are sound. Treatments we provide include but are not limited to dental scaling and polishing, extracting diseased teeth, and bonding of minor tooth fractures to provide pain relief and protection from infection.
