Meet Our Team

Dr. Young is a native of Lexington, KY, where she grew up on a farm with lots of animals that she loved to care for. She decided at the age of nine that she wanted to be a veterinarian and never wavered from the path. Dr. Young graduated from Paul Laurence Dunbar’s Math, Science and Technology program in 2002 continuing her love of science and animals through her high school career. She then went on to acquire her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Kentucky in 2005 and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. After graduating from veterinary school, Dr. Young worked in a busy mixed animal practice in Summerville, GA for almost 3 years before she had the opportunity to purchase Scott County Veterinary Clinic and move back to beautiful Central Kentucky.

She lives in Georgetown with her husband, Chad and her 2-year-old daughter, Lauren. Other, furrier family members include her sidekick and partner since the beginning of this veterinary journey, Toby Keith, a Jack Russell Terrier mix, and two cats, Linus and Winnie. Dr. Young can’t wait to meet you and your furry family members!

Originally from Hershey, Pennsylvania, Dr. Schell acquired her Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Sciences in 2017 from LMU. In 2022 she graduated from Lincoln Memorial University with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Her passions include feline, and soft tissue surgery. She is looking forward to building bonds with her patients and their owners. In her spare time away from the clinic you can find her making art, and spending time with her three felines Terra, Melanie, & Lewis.

Dr. Terrill Hubert grew up in Post Falls, Idaho. She received her bachelors of Animal Science from the University of Idaho in 1999 then attended Purdue University, graduating with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. School and jobs took her to the Midwest, Boston, and San Francisco Bay areas before settling here in Kentucky. Her passion is nurturing the owner pet bond through effective communication and education. In her down time you can find her spending time with her husband of 20+ years, 4 children, and their pets.

Originally from Whitesburg, Kentucky, Dr. Gover acquired his Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Sciences and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine both from Lincoln Memorial University, graduating in 2020. Dr Gover brings experience as an Internal Medicine Intern and relief Veterinarian, as well as 2 years of Emergency Department experience. His passions are wide, expanding from Diagnostic Imaging, Exotics, and Wildlife to Public Education. Now residing in Lexington, KY, Dr. Gover spends his time outside of work with his wife, son, and their pets, either taking on new home projects, reading and sculpting, or exploring outdoors. He looks forward to educating and providing the best care for your pets through individualized treatments and diagnostics.

Ashlie Martin joined Scott County Veterinary Clinic in August 2023 and has spent the years since helping our practice grow while keeping the people and pets at the heart of everything we do. As Practice Manager, Ashlie oversees the day-to-day operations of SCVC and is especially passionate about team development, client experience, and creating a veterinary practice where both families and employees feel genuinely cared for.

Originally from Winchester, Kentucky, Ashlie began her education at Eastern Kentucky University studying Education before continuing her studies in Business through the University of Virginia. She entered veterinary management in 2021 and quickly discovered a career that combined many of the things she loves most: people, animals, leadership, creativity, and making a meaningful impact within her community.

One of Ashlie’s favorite parts of veterinary medicine is getting to know the families who trust SCVC with their pets and finding new ways for our clinic to better serve them. Behind the scenes, she is equally passionate about supporting our team, developing future leaders, and helping SCVC continue to grow without losing the close-knit, hometown feeling that makes our practice special.

Outside of the clinic, Ashlie enjoys spending time with her 3 dogs, reading, cooking, tackling home projects, and finding any excuse to be outdoors. After years of encouragement from the SCVC team, she finally made the move to Georgetown and is happy to call the community she serves home.

Originally from Central Florida, Tammy graduated from the University of Florida in 1993 before moving to Kentucky. She later attended Morehead State University, where she obtained her veterinary technician license. Throughout her career, Tammy has worked in both large and small animal medicine, as well as surgery and emergency care. Of all the many roles she has held, she is especially passionate about client education and has loved having the opportunity to watch children and their beloved pets grow up together through the years.

Tammy is a pivotal anchor of our SCVC team, sharing her experience and knowledge with both our clients and the next generation of veterinary professionals. Her compassion for animals extends well beyond the clinic—she is also a licensed wildlife rehabilitator with a special love for squirrels, although you may find her caring for everything from opossums to raccoons!

Outside of veterinary medicine, Tammy enjoys spending time outdoors and woodworking. She and her husband share their home with a dog, cat, horse, and donkey.

As an LVT, Madi loves getting to be part of all the different pieces of patient care, but puppy and kitten visits are easily some of her favorites. She loves meeting pets at the very beginning of their journey and getting to watch them grow with their families. She also really enjoys laboratory work and the behind-the-scenes side of veterinary medicine that helps our doctors find answers and provide the best care possible.

When she’s not at the clinic, Madi loves traveling, going to concerts, hiking, baking, and finding a good thrift-store treasure. She also spends plenty of time with her two dogs, Sadie and Prince.

Madi brings a kind heart, an eagerness to learn, and a genuine love for her patients to SCVC. We’re so glad she chose to begin this chapter of her veterinary career with us!

Mary was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She attended Morehead State University where she acquired her veterinary technician license. Over the years she practiced in Equine & Emergency medicine. Her passion is educating owners on the importance of routine and regular care for their pets. In her spare time she is devoted to her family with her husband, two girls, her dog named Colt & Ebony. On her days off you can find her gardening and taking care of their farm pets.

Born and raised in Georgetown, Kentucky, Madison has a special interest in surgery, laboratory work, and exotic pet care. Her professional experience also includes emergency veterinary medicine, giving her valuable experience caring for patients in a variety of situations.

Madison’s love for animals extends well beyond dogs and cats. She has a particular interest in reptiles, wildlife, nature, and exotic species—and is a proud hedgehog mom to Pepper and Winfred!

When she isn’t caring for patients at SCVC, Madison enjoys video games, sci-fi and horror books and movies, and spending time enjoying her interests in animals and the natural world.

From starting with SCVC as an assistant to becoming one of our LVTs, Madison has continued to grow within the profession, and we are proud to have her knowledge, curiosity, and passion for patient care as part of our team.

Amanda joined the Scott County Veterinary Clinic team in August 2021 and is originally from Lexington, Kentucky. Her educational background is a unique blend of criminal justice and veterinary medicine. She earned an Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice from BCTC and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Eastern Kentucky University before continuing her education to earn an associate degree in Veterinary Technology through Penn Foster.

Amanda’s love for animals has been at the heart of her career for more than a decade. She began working in animal welfare through the Humane Society and Animal Care & Control from 2014–2018 before transitioning into veterinary medicine, where she has worked in clinical practice since 2018.

One of Amanda’s greatest passions is advocating for pit bull-type dogs and helping others see beyond the stereotypes that often surround them. Her love extends to animals of all shapes and sizes, and she is passionate about being a voice for the pets entrusted to her care.

Outside of the clinic, Amanda enjoys going to the movies and concerts, hiking, tending to her plants, reading a good book, and spending time with her husband, family, and friends. Much of her free time is spent walking and enjoying life with her own fur family, which includes her beloved pit bulls Ghost, Princess Leia, and Krypto; her turtle, Syrax and any new fosters she picks up!

Whether she’s caring for patients at SCVC or spending time with her own crew at home, animals are never far from Amanda’s heart!

Olivia was born and raised in Georgetown, KY. She joined our team in June 2022 and is currently attending Penn & Foster College to get her license in Veterinary Technology. Olivia has always loved animals and has past experience working as a kennel technician. In her free time she loves spending time with her friends, family, playing the drums and loving on her dog named Aurora.

Terra joined the Scott County Veterinary Clinic team in October 2023. Originally from San Bernardino, California, Terra has a genuine love for helping others and being of service to those around her. One of her favorite parts of working at SCVC is getting to meet new people and, of course, all of the pets who come through our doors!

Outside of the clinic, Terra enjoys reading, gaming, taking nature walks, and spending time with her husband. She also has a special place in her heart for senior pets and shares her home with two elderly cats.

Terra appreciates some of life’s coziest little pleasures, including a good thunderstorm and chocolate-covered fruit. And when fall rolls around, she’s especially in her element, as Halloween is her absolute favorite holiday!

Whether she’s welcoming a family to the clinic, meeting a new furry face, or simply finding a way to lend a helping hand, Terra loves connecting with others and being part of the SCVC family. We couldn’t do it without her!

Raygan Justus joined the Scott County Veterinary Clinic team in August 2026 through the co-op program at Great Crossing High School. Born in Lexington, Kentucky, Raygan is excited to gain hands-on experience in veterinary medicine while learning more about the many different aspects of caring for animals.

As she explores a future in veterinary medicine, Raygan especially enjoys the opportunity to learn alongside our doctors and veterinary team and build real-world skills within the clinic. Her love for animals continues outside of SCVC, where she volunteers with the Scott County Humane Society.

In her free time, Raygan enjoys reading and spending time with her own pets—a dog named Sammy and two cats, Fred and Greg. We are excited to have Raygan learning and growing with us and to be a small part of the beginning of her journey in veterinary medicine!

Alijah joined the Scott County Veterinary Clinic team in July 2026 as a Co-Op student. A Kentucky native and senior at Great Crossing High School, Alijah has a strong interest in biology and especially enjoys learning about wildlife, ecosystems, and the natural world around him.

Through his time at SCVC, Alijah is gaining hands-on exposure to veterinary medicine and the many different roles involved in caring for animals. As he continues exploring his future career interests, he enjoys having the opportunity to learn in a real-world environment and expand his knowledge of animal care and biology.

Outside of the clinic, Alijah stays busy with track and field and enjoys going to the gym, spending time with friends, reading the Bible and other books, fishing, hiking, running, and just about anything that gets him outdoors. He also has a unique interest in searching for bugs and observing wildlife!

At home, Alijah has three leopard geckos named Fazo, Drako, and Dablo. Whether he’s at the clinic, on the track, or exploring outside, Alijah’s curiosity for animals and the natural world is a big part of who he is, and we’re happy to have him learning alongside our SCVC team!

Jackie grew up in Enniscorthy, Ireland from where she graduated high school. She then moved to Kentucky to pursue working with horses for 20 years. From there she started working in small animal care throughout the US and eventually ended up back in Kentucky living with her husband, dog, and two cats. She joined our team and we are so lucky to have her here to take care of our boarding facility and to give your pet great care while you are away!
