Special Boarding Notes

Every pet is different, and we offer multiple boarding options to help keep your best friend comfortable while they’re away from home. Our canine accommodations include:

• Small Dog Room with appropriately sized accommodations up to XXL cages
• Indoor Suites
• Indoor Runs
• Indoor/Outdoor Runs
• Sibling Boarding — dogs from the same family may stay together when appropriate, with discounted rates available for multiple pets!

Individual Attention & Playtime

At SCVC, we believe boarding should include more than a comfortable place to sleep. Every canine boarding guest receives a minimum of three 15-minute outdoor play sessions each day, giving them time to stretch their legs, explore, play and enjoy one-on-one attention with our kennel team.

For the safety and comfort of our guests, we do not mix unrelated pets for group play. Playtime is provided individually or with approved siblings from the same household. This allows our team to focus on your pet while avoiding the risks and stress that can come with unfamiliar group play.

Care 365 Days a Year

Pets need care every day and so does our kennel! Our dedicated kennel team is here 365 days a year, including weekends and holidays, to provide feeding, cleaning, playtime, medications when applicable, and plenty of attention to the pets staying with us.

While our boarding guests continue to receive care on Sundays and holidays, pickups and drop-offs are not available on Sundays or designated holidays. Our kennel care team is on-site caring for our guests during these times, but our reception services are closed.

We encourage families to plan pickup and drop-off times in advance, especially around holidays and busy travel weekends. Our team is always happy to help you choose the accommodations that best fit your pet and make their stay at SCVC feel a little more like home.

The health and safety of every pet in our care is our priority. To help protect all of our feline boarding guests, cats must be free of contagious illness and parasites at the time of their stay and meet the following health requirements:

• Current Rabies vaccination
• Current FVRCP vaccination
• Current Feline Leukemia (FeLV) vaccination
• Current flea/ tick prevention  (Veterinary-grade required: Revolution, Bravecto, and many others are approved forms to keep your best friend covered.)

If your cat receives veterinary care outside of Scott County Veterinary Clinic, please provide current vaccination, testing and preventive care records so our team can confirm that all requirements have been met.

If fleas are found at admission, an appropriate fast-acting flea treatment will be administered to help protect your cat and our other boarding guests.
